About Us
It all started with…
a Facebook post and a sign! Literally!
In October of 2018, two women connected through mutual friends, but strangers at the time, came together because of a sign ... a ‘For Rent’ sign!
Quickly finding out they had shared passions for helping people thrive through movement, cycling for Kelly and yoga for Chrissy, their dream became a reality in Fit2Shine Studio. Just a little over a year after opening, COVID tried to shut the doors, but they pivoted, rebounded, and made it through making changes as needed over the next two years. In 2022, after three years of partnership, they parted ways, and Kelly remains to continue the mission of Fit2Shine Studio. This is a place where people come to find energy, strength, and peace through fitness. With cycling, yoga, and strength classes, we offer healing for the body, mind, and soul.
Whether your day calls for you to hop on a bike and ride your heart out (building your cardiovascular system) while having a blast with loud music and strong encouragement in CYCLE class, to discover your physical strength by squatting and lifting heavy things (building your muscular skeletal system) in strength class, or to find your internal strength and peace in yoga class (building your nervous system), you can find it at Fit2Shine Studio. A place where you can #befit2shine in so many ways!
The family of Fit2Shine Studio has grown organically and is a beautiful, intimate, welcoming group of people that truly support each other in being the BEST they can be. Our students make our studio great. The vibe is one of self-love, community, support, and authenticity. We all walk into the studio with our challenges, and we walk out rested, recharged, full of energy, and ready to take on life. We hope you’ll #befit2shine!
We’ll meet you on the mat or the bike, at the park or on the lake, at summer camp or at school, at your office or at the vineyard, at home or in our studio… wherever you are, whoever you are, you’re part of the family! Fit2Shine Studio is not just a family-owned and operated business.
Fit2Shine Studio IS a family!
About Our Owner
Kelly Jarvis is a wife, mom of three, Jesus follower, servant leader, certified personal trainer, 200-hour certified yoga instructor, and long-time group fitness instructor specializing in Spinning, certified by NASM and Mad Dogg Athletics. After 18 years of teaching, she has expanded her wellness footprint with additional certifications in barre and kids yoga, and continues to study yoga to include trauma-informed and restorative methods, as well as applying consistent meditation to her own life.
Kelly’s philosophy of wellness is that we need ALL types of movement to be our best selves. Whether you are young or old, new or experienced, male or female, or any ability, movement is medicine and can make you feel alive and enhance your mental and physical health.
Her philosophy of cycling is to directly simulate an outdoor ride inside, with music pumping and the energy high, of course! Kelly has a passion for helping athletes thrive and loves helping beginners find their rhythm. She LOVES to introduce Spinning to new cyclists and watch them fall in love with the sport AND their power.
In yoga, she believes in making it approachable for all people, never stuffy or inaccessible. She has just recently experienced the joy of yoga that goes beyond the physical and into breathing and meditation and enjoys helping to bring these things together so students can find the peace we all so desperately need.
When she’s not on the bike or the mat, you’ll find her in strength or boot camp class, running, or exploring the amazing human body in some other way…maybe in more trainings! A leader and life-long learner, she never turns down an opportunity to grow. When not at the studio, she can be found serving on the New Market Green Team, planning the Deer Dash 5K event for her kids’ school PTA, or trying to practice self-care at church, physical therapy, or by getting a massage.
In addition to being women-owned and Christian-owned, Fit2Shine Studio is most definitely a family-owned studio and her husband, Matt, and kids, Mason, Campbell, and Ivy contribute to the business in a big way as well.
