Prenatal Yoga in Frederick, MD
Pregnancy is a magical and transformative time, full of both physical and emotional changes. As an expectant mother, it's important to find ways to care for both your own wellbeing and the health of your growing baby. Prenatal yoga offers a beautiful opportunity to do just that.
These specialized yoga classes are designed to support mothers-to-be throughout each stage of pregnancy. By focusing on gentle, pregnancy-safe movements, prenatal yoga helps alleviate common discomforts like backaches, swelling, and fatigue. Just as importantly, it provides a nurturing space for you to connect with your baby and prepare mentally and spiritually for the journey of motherhood.
Through soothing breath work, guided meditation, and mindful movement, prenatal yoga encourages you to slow down, tune inward, and savor this precious time. As you move through the postures, you'll feel your body opening and expanding to make room for your little one. This can foster a profound sense of awe, gratitude, and excitement about the life growing within you.
Beyond the physical benefits, prenatal yoga also offers valuable emotional support. Practicing in a community of other expectant mothers can help relieve feelings of isolation or anxiety, replacing them with a deep sense of camaraderie and shared experience. Many women find that their prenatal yoga classes become a cherished oasis of calm amid the whirlwind of pregnancy.
Most importantly, prenatal yoga lays the foundation for a lifelong bond between you and your baby. By synchronizing your breath, movement, and presence, you'll learn to attune to your child's needs even before they're born. This heightened state of mindfulness and responsiveness can make the transition to parenthood far smoother, enabling you to confidently navigate the joys and challenges that lie ahead.
Whether you're a seasoned yogi or new to the practice, prenatal yoga offers an invaluable opportunity to nourish yourself and your baby during this transformative time. We invite you to explore our prenatal yoga classes and discover the profound benefits for both your physical and emotional wellbeing.

Garbha Samskara -Shaping Future Generations
Coming Soon- TBD
Garbha Samskara is a traditional Indian prenatal care ritual and scientific approach to pregnancy that involves a variety of practices to promote the health of both the mother and baby. It translates to nurturing baby in the womb.
This care plan led by our prenatal practitioner, Priya Bandhavi, can be life changing for your pregnancy journey, birth, and healthy child.
In this workshop, Priya will offer enlightenment to help you grasp the importance of this powerful lifestyle ritual for both mom and baby, show how it can shape future generations, and share how it will play a role in our prenatal care during our prenatal session offerings.
The workshop will explain how we will approach prenatal yoga using the Garbhasamskara philosophy.
Garbhasamskara has three components:
1) Garbha Aahar - Nutrition
2) Garbha Yoga -Asana, pranayama & meditation
3) Garbha Samvada - Nurturing baby from the womb by baby talk
This philosophy approaches pregnancy in trimesters a nd you will learn all about how we treat the body differently with asanas (movement), pranayama (breathing), and meditation (calmness and serenity) differently in each trimester.
This workshop will also address post natal recovery tips and techniques that will also be shared as part of the practice of prenatal yoga with Priya throughout your pregnancy when you join us bi-weekly.
