This two-weekend, 50-hour training, is specifically created with educators in mind and is MSDE certified for continuing education credits. Upon completion, students will have a 50-hour certification in Resilient Kids Yoga & Mindfulness in Schools. With evidence-based principles on child development, education, trauma, and nervous system regulation, RKYM in Schools will provide a strong foundation in the art of using yoga as a classroom management tool.
Resilient Kids is a subset of Resilience Yoga, owned by Christine Dance Wolf, E-RYT 500/YACEP; MSEd, who specializes in yoga for special populations, including School-Based Yoga, Trauma Informed Yoga, and Adaptive Yoga for children and adults.
Dates: Friday, September 17th - Sunday, September 19th and Friday, November 12th - Sunday, November 14th.

In this training, students will learn effective principles in teaching children’s yoga including:
Understanding of child development principles, how age differences impact what and how children learn, and the neurobiology of a child’s developing brain
How yoga postures, breathing techniques, and alignment cues are broken up into age ranges
Meditation, relaxation, mindfulness activities, and basic emotional regulation techniques
Behavioral management and class structure policies
Strategies for inclusion of diverse populations, needs, and backgrounds
The neurobiology and scientific research on how trauma impacts the body, brain, and nervous system
How trauma impacts behaviors, learning, emotional regulation
Methodology of Trauma-Informed Yoga Teaching for kids
Assessing regulation, concentration/focus, trauma backgrounds, and other needs in your students
Using yoga to regulate behaviors, emotions and concentration
Using yoga to build positive peer relationships and increase self-esteem
How to incorporate yoga in a classroom, school behavior intervention plan, or therapeutic group
How to meet the needs of diverse school populations within a yoga class
How to incorporate yoga within a school day while still meeting state standards
Who should attend: School teachers, daycare providers, and other school-based professionals looking to utilize yoga as a tool within their own classroom. Certified yoga teachers with a minimum of 200 hours of teacher training and year experience teaching looking to provide yoga on-site at local schools.
Certification Requirements: Students must attend the training in its entirety, complete reading and outside assignments, including school-based yoga classes. Upon completion of this training,, students will be certified in Resilient Kids Yoga and Mindfulness in Schools 50-hour certification. Maryland teachers will be eligible to receive 3 MSDE continuing education credits.
